Green Rooster Dishes by Scio

Img_4468

I have been trying not to stop at the thrift store as much since we found out we'll be moving, but when I found myself alone on a Saturday driving around town I just couldn't help myself.

I thought I'd just look for a few items I've been hunting for...
I spent over $40.
Guess I found a few things, eh?

The two things that stand out from the haul are several packages of rick-rack for 15 cents each, and these dishes which I absolutely did not need, but felt I would always regret missing out on if I left them behind.  It is a four place setting (plates, small bowls, cups and saucers) and I got them for $12.50 total.  My poor husband just rolled his eyes, but since I was able to find cupboard space to store them we are both happy.  Aren't they great?  The flowers.  The little ring of hearts.  I just love them.

wow! I love those dishes...lucky you

I see a couple of posts down that you have a rag doll your mum made for you...I have recently rescued the one mine made 30 years or so ago, gave her new feet, a new smile and a lovely new dress: it was the nicest project I ever did

Hi. Thanks for dropping by my place - I've had a lovely time reading and viewing your blog - you've made some fabulous things.

Hope you don't mind if I bookmark and come back again?

Take care :-)

I love the dishes! I never seem to find goodies like that.

Yes, those dishes would have been hard to pass up.

I recently purchased a set of dishes at a church fair - I couldn't resist, they were from the 30's, and they were PINK! Of course, my hutch is already full so they are sitting in a box for now...guess I'm going to have to make some decisions soon.

Oh, those dishes are so nice. I did the same thing myself...brought back a bag of bargains even though we've been packing like crazy to move. Can't be helped sometimes!

Glad to find a new (to me) blog to enjoy!

Good for you! I mean...wow, that is a super nice set. I never get cool stuff like that when I go to thrift stores.
